Google Tag Manager for PrestaShop, with the purchase and its value
Paste your GTM-XXXXXXX ID and your shop loads the Google Tag Manager container on every page.
On the thank-you page it sends the purchase to the dataLayer with its value, so GA4, Google Ads or Meta can measure real sales.

Developed and maintained by Kebes, a PrestaShop Expert level 3 agency with more than 15 years developing for PrestaShop.
Pasting the Google Tag Manager code into PrestaShop by hand means editing the theme and doing it again on every update. With the module you paste the ID once in the settings and that is it.
What it does
- Loads the Tag Manager container (
gtm.js) in the<head>and thenoscriptright after the opening<body>, as Google asks. - On the order confirmation it pushes the GA4-style
purchaseevent to the dataLayer: order reference, value with tax, tax, shipping, currency and the products with price and quantity. - Optional: the Google Ads conversion on the confirmation page, with the order value, currency and reference, if the Google tag is loaded by VEO Simple Google Ads.
What it does not do
It only works with GTM- containers: if what you have is an Analytics or Ads ID (G-, AW-), use VEO Simple Google Ads. It does not create tags inside your container: that is done in Tag Manager. It does not handle cookie consent either; use it with your cookie banner (with consent mode if you run Google Ads or GA4).
Compatibility
PrestaShop 1.7 and 8, and version 1.4.0 tested on PrestaShop 9.2. No overrides, no template changes.
Installation
Upload the ZIP from Modules > Module Manager, click «Configure» and paste your GTM-XXXXXXX ID. To measure sales, create GA4 or Ads tags in Tag Manager triggered by the purchase event.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it only for Google Analytics 4?
With Tag Manager, yes: create the GA4 tag and the purchase tag with the purchase event in your container. If you do not want Tag Manager, VEO Simple Google Ads loads the Google tag with your G- ID.
Is the purchase counted twice if the customer reloads the thank-you page?
The event carries the order reference as transaction_id, which GA4 uses to avoid counting it twice.
I already use it with an AW- or G- ID, what happens when I update?
From 1.4.0 that ID is no longer loaded and the settings warn you. Install VEO Simple Google Ads and paste the same ID there.
