PrestaShop Expert, 3 stars level

Developed and maintained by Kebes, a PrestaShop Expert level 3 agency with more than 15 years developing for PrestaShop.

VEO Redirection is the module to manage PrestaShop 301 redirects without touching .htaccess: redirect old URLs, log 404 errors and keep your rankings when you change products, categories or the shop structure. Compatible with PrestaShop 9.

Why you need a redirect manager

Every time you change a product's friendly URL, delete a category or migrate the shop, the old URLs that Google and your customers know start returning 404 errors. You lose visits and rankings. PrestaShop has no redirect manager and no log of pages not found.

Features

  • 301, 302, 303, 307 and 308 redirects, and 410 (gone) and 404 responses.
  • Exact source (case and trailing slash insensitive) or regular expression with $1, $2 groups in the target.
  • URL parameters: ignore them, pass them to the target or require a match.
  • Groups, bulk enable and disable, and a hit counter for each redirect.
  • 404 error log with hits, last hit and referrer; create the redirect from the row itself. Anonymised IPs and automatic cleanup.
  • Automatic redirects: when the URL of a product, category, CMS page or brand changes, a 301 from the old one to the new one is created; when a product or category is deleted, its URL goes to the parent category.
  • Native redirects: lists disabled products (and categories on PrestaShop 9), flags those that do not redirect or redirect to something that no longer exists and changes them in bulk.
  • Import and export CSV, import from Línea Gráfica's redirect module (lgseoredirect) and export to Apache and Nginx rules.
  • Warning about redirect chains and loops.

Compatibility

Compatible with PrestaShop 9 (tested on 9.2.0 with PHP 8.4). No overrides.

Installation

Upload the ZIP from Modules > Module Manager. The screen is under Shop Parameters > Traffic & SEO > Redirects.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a 301 and a 302 redirect?

A 301 is permanent: Google passes the ranking of the old URL to the new one. A 302 is temporary, for example for a campaign. For URLs that changed for good, use a 301.

When should I use a 410 instead of a redirect?

When the page no longer exists and there is nothing equivalent. A 410 tells Google to drop it from the index sooner than a 404.

Does it slow the shop down?

No. Exact rules are looked up with one indexed query and regular expressions are only checked when there is no exact match.

Can I bring the redirects I already have?

Yes, from a CSV file or straight from the lgseoredirect module.
